The middle
age town on the edge of the neighbouring region (Primorsko-goranska zupanija),
between Moscenicka Draga and Plomin, a place which connects the mountain with
the sea. It lies on a cliff at 150 m above sea level and below Sisol (835 m),
the southernmost tip of the mountain Ucka. The place is inhabited from the
prehistoric age, but the church and its bell tower where built in the middle
age. Most of the houses were built in the 17th century, in
traditional coastal architecture, which gives it a glance of romance. A
beautiful view on the islands in the Kvarner bay is spread out from Brsec.
Brsec is
the birth town of Eugen Kumicic, a well-known writer and politician, famous by
his alias Jenio Sisolski. His birth house is open for visitations.
Brsec
achieves tourism results particularly in renting private holiday accommodations.
The number of apartments and holiday houses grows rapidly, and the locals
strive to offer quality services to the guests. With the continuing investments
in additional features and infrastructure, they achieve higher results, also
outside the main season.
